Student and Collegial Feedback
It has been four years since I taught classes. Since that time my role has been that of a faculty developer. I run workshops, visit classrooms and give coaching to help NorQuet instructors develop in pedagogy, planning and practice. What you see on this page will include:
- Student feedback from some of the courses I taught at NorQuest in 2015 and 2016.
- Student feedback from when I taught EDU 300 at the University of Alberta
- Collegial feedback from people involved in the ISTEP 13 project (Tanzania)
- Instructor feedback from facilitating ISWs
Teaching at NorQuest
Below you will find the student feedback from two courses I taught in the fall of 2016 and just below them, feedback from three courses I taught in 2015.

EDU 300 at the University of Alberta
In 2015 I won a teaching award from the Education Faculty at the university of Alberta. I had the pleasure of being the lead instructor for several sections of EDU 300. This compulsory course for after degree students provides an introduction to education with an emphasis on exploring what it means to be a teacher in contemporary society. Education is explored in different contexts and from the following perspectives: historical, sociological, philosophical, Indigenous, political, and ethical.
On the basis of my student evaluations and on five letters submitted by individual students I was fortunate enough to share the honour with another graduate student. Below you will find a link to the Faculty of Education online magazine featuring the award winners as well as the student evaluation report for the fall section and some excerpts from the written comments section.

Feedback from ISW facilitation
. An ISW (Instructional Skills Workshop) is a four day learning experience. These four-day, certificated and nationally-recognized workshops provide new and experienced educators with the opportunity to collaboratively explore reflective planning and practice.
